ERD Nine Portraits Graphic Zip-Up Hoodie — Washed Black

The front opens with a single large image: a man in three-quarter profile, a bicycle frame partially visible behind him, rendered in blown-out black and white — the kind of image that looks like it was photocopied until the detail started to dissolve. The left sleeve carries a handwritten signature or tag, loose and quick. That’s the front side of the argument.

The back makes the case differently. Nine photographs of the same man, arranged in a 3×3 grid: front-facing, in profile, head down, head up, eyes to the side. The images are consistent in crop and scale but not in expression — each frame catches something slightly different. Together they read like a contact sheet, or a police archive, or a Warhol series that forgot to be optimistic. The grid structure is the only organizing logic. No text. No label. Just nine versions of the same face that still don’t add up to one person.

This is the only piece in the ERD lineup that uses a repeated-portrait grid format. The nine-panel back is its signature — recognizable from a distance, legible up close, and unsettling either way.
