ERD Fragmented Face Graphic Zip-Up Hoodie — Washed Ash

No full face. Only parts. The front carries two black-ground panels — close-cropped facial fragments in stark white: an eye, a mouth, a jaw line, cropped so tightly they stop being recognizable and start being abstract. The zip cuts between them. The ENFANTS RICHES DÉPRIMÉS label sits at the neck above the panels, the only text on the entire garment.

The back continues the project at larger scale: one oversized fragment — lips and chin, white on ash gray — fills the upper back panel. No border, no frame, bleeding into the washed surface. The sleeves carry further fragments on both arms, extending the disassembled face around the body. Worn, the garment becomes a portrait that only makes sense when you step back, and still doesn’t resolve into one.

The color does specific work here. Washed ash gray — deep, uneven, with visible surface aging — makes the white print feel lifted rather than applied. The fragments look excavated. Francis Bacon worked in a similar register: the face as site of distortion, not description.
