At the top, the ERD logotype is spelled out in spaced letters separated by dense columns of small type, formatted like a broadcast schedule or a frequency readout: E…R…D. Below that, a masthead line: JANUARY & FEBRUARY — VOLUME 1. It is the first issue of something. The name of the publication is not given. What it covers is.

The cover image is a close portrait of a woman. She holds one hand near her face, fingers lightly touching her cheek. She is looking directly at the camera — not performing, not modeling, just looking, with the particular composure of someone who already has more information than you do.
